Go as Far as You Can
Grow toward the sky like trees and wild grass.
Go as Far as You Can draws inspiration from my grandmother’s heartfelt advice before I left China to study abroad, exploring the emotions of leaving home, embracing the unknown, and fostering personal growth. Using a fragmented narrative and childlike perspective, the project conveys innocence, optimism, and the courage to see life as a playground despite uncertainties. It transitions from boundless imagination to grounded reality, symbolizing a shift from avoidance to confronting change. Reconnecting with nature becomes a pivotal theme, rebuilding belonging and balance. The video concludes with a personal scene where I photograph my grandmother, as her mantra, "Look up at the sky," resonates with imagery of upward-reaching people and nature—growing like trees and grass, reaching for a world beyond their immediate perspective, instead of being fixated on the struggles right in front of them.
